What is Counseling
Did it ever cross your mind that you or a certain member of your family could use
some extra guidance from an objective party—someone knowledgeable and
trained in a specific area of need, someone with a biblical perspective?
The Sheridan House Counseling Center is a safe place to turn for that guidance. For over
30 years, our Counseling Center has provided
confidential and professional services to
literally thousands of people of all ages and
all walks of life. We are careful to respond
to each person’s needs with love, honesty,
warmth, respect, and integrity while maintaining
a nonjudgmental, biblical approach.
Who We Are
Our Counseling Center staff includes licensed psychologists, licensed mental
health counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social
workers, and student interns. Each counselor is a Christian who understands
the importance of counseling from a biblical perspective. We are all from different
backgrounds and have specialized training and experience, which allows us to offer
assistance to diverse individuals and/or groups with a wide range of life circumstances.
Parenting Groups:
Parenting groups are available for those seeking to improve their parent-child
communication skills, strengthen disciplinary methods, learn how to
establish healthy boundaries, or simply to receive valuable information and tools
in raising positive children. We utilize the Parenting On Purpose© curriculum,
developed and written by Dr. Bob Barnes, to reach these goals.
Special Note to Pastors:
Sheridan House Counseling Center exists as a resource for you. When you need personal
guidance for your family, or a place to refer those in need, Sheridan House is ready to
